Promoting Education (PREcroydon)

Description
[This course will take you about 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete.] Supports learning for Training Support and Development Standards 5 (TSDS).

All children have the right to be educated and are expected in the UK to be in full-time education until they are at least 16 years old (and at least part-time between 16-18). Looked after children have lower educational achievement than their peers and, therefore, it is a vitally important part of your role as a foster carer to promote education with your foster child. Through education and with their educational needs supported, children will grow and develop physically and emotionally, have a better understanding of the world and be given a wealth of opportunities to learn.

In this course, you will learn:
- How you can help promote education.
- Different learning plans and educational needs.
- Basic school and exam structures.
- The educational rights of your foster child.
