Transitions (TScroydon)

Description
[This course will take you about 1 hour and 45 mins to complete.] Supports learning for Training Support and Development Standards 5 (TSDS).

All children will experience transitions in their early years, such as starting nursery or moving to a new school. Every child is unique and will respond differently to the transitions they face. For some children, these transitions can trigger challenging behaviour and potentially be very stressful. If a child has had adverse experiences in their past, these life changes can potentially be disruptive and distressing for them. However, if they have a good support network and emotional resilience, they will be able to deal much better with these transitions.
This course will look at the many transitions a foster child may go through in their time in placement with you. We will discuss these changes in detail, looking at how they may affect the child and how you can support them and help them build emotional resilience.

In this course, we will look at
- How to build emotional resilience
- Educational transitions
- Transitions in care
